for nineteen years. Dolan has been a long standing member of the
American Guild of English Handbell Ringers serving Area IX as treasurer
for four years, and now as Chair-Elect to succeed to Chair in October,
2000. As a handbell conductor he has led two local festivals in Ponca
City, the Austin (Texas) Handbell Festival (1995), and been clinician for
workshops at the Texas Conference Choir Clinic and various churches in
Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma. Dolan is in his third year as
a member of the Houston Bronze Ensemble, a semi-professional handbell ensemble,
and has served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Houston Handbell
Association as chair.

Bobbi Schmid and Ron Bellamy have combined over 54 years of ringing experience into this unique and highly energized partnership that was created in 1999. Together, they ring four octaves of Schulmerich handbells and three octaves of Malmark choirchimes to perform a varied repertoire which includes classical, sacred, jazz, rag, and "just-plain-fun" pieces. They are dedicated to promoting the art of solo, duet, and small ensemble ringing by teaching workshops and performing concerts around the country. They have been featured performers at the Solo/Ensemble Extravaganzas (SEE) held in Colorado Springs in 2001, 2003, and 2005, at the AGEHR (American Guild of English Handbell Ringers) National Seminar held in Milwaukee in 2006, at the 2007 SEE conference held in Philadelphia, and at the AGEHR Area II Read&Ring Seminar in July 2008.

One-half of the handbell duet team, Bell a deux (see separate listing), formed in 1999. Has been involved with ensemble ringing since 1993, when he was one of the five members of Tintinnabulation. He has experience in massed conducting, and has been a clinician for AGEHR Areas II and III, AGEHR National Seminar, Solo/Ensemble Extravaganza, and Handbell Exploration. BELLISSIMA RINGERS - Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada - Director, Susan Carscadden-Mifsud - www.belllissimaringers.ca - Bellissima Ringers is a handbell quartet, formed and directed by Susan Carscadden-Mifsud. They have appeared in concert with the London-based semi-professional brass ensemble, BRASSROOTS, performed at Guelph Fest, and at the Stratford Summer Music Festival. In 2003, they played the handbell part in the Toronto production, broadcast nationally on CBC-TV, of Noye's Fludde, part of Benjamin Britten: A Celebration. In June 2004, they performed this piece again as part of a tribute to Nicholas Goldschmidt (The Joy of Niki) at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto. In July 2005, Bellissima Ringers performed in concert as part of the Canadian handbell Festival, Ringing Link: Penticton, BC. On the same trip, their short tour of BC included two concerts in Vancouver, one on Gabriola Island and another in Kelowna.

BELLS ABLAZE - Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada - Director, Susan Carscadden-Mifsud - susan@handbellgraces.com - Bells Ablaze was formed in September 2004 and is directed by Susan Carscadden-Mifsud. This invitational handbell choir includes twelve ringers from several Ontario communities: Guelph, Kitchener, Dutton, St. Marys, Ingersoll and London. They perform a variety of demanding repertoire, and because they perform without a conductor, each ringer must draw on their own musicianship skills. While the sounds are beautiful to hear, Bells Ablaze is a feast for the eyes as well!

Doug has been directing handbell choirs since 1973. He is a published composer/arranger of handbell, choral, organ, brass and orchestral music. Mr. Benton is a frequent contributor to OVERTONES, the official journal of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, writing articles on techniques, Conducting, and the first major research on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and handbell ringing. He is an internationally respected Clinician and is in great demand nationally as a Festival Massed Conductor. Mr. Benton was appointed Bellmaster at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, in 1989 where he founded and directed the NAU Harter Memorial Handbell Choir and the NAU Summer Music Camp Handbell Choirs through 2000. Mr. Benton has served the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers as State Chair, Area XI Chair and most recently served on the National Board of Directors as Chair of the Director Education Department. Currently, he is Director of Music Ministries at Gold Canyon United Methodist Church in Gold Canyon, Arizona.

- Gail began ringing bells in 1977. She has rung hand bells in many states (including California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, New Mexico) and out of the country (Indonesia). UMC in Canton, IL in 1989 and rang through high school. I rang my
first solo in 1996 and have
performed in a few central Illinois churches. I rang as a regular
substitute ringer with the adult bell choir at 1st UMC, Normal, IL between
1997 and 1999 since IL State University did not have a bell choir.
I have been directing Acabella, the adult handbell choir at the 1st UMC,
North Liberty, IA, since August 2001.

-- Elizabeth Bradford began a life long passion for handbells when
she was asked by Mrs. Margaret Shurcliff to join her happy band of bell
ringers, the Beacon Hill Band, to ring carols on Christmas Eve. Her
first experience at ringing was marked by an evening of ringingthe C5 bell
without being able to produce a sound. Regardless of her difficulties,
she was hooked and became a regular member of the Band. As a member
of the New England Guild of English Handbell Ringers, she managed the festivals
at Castle Hill for many years and began to meet ringers from all over the
country. While serving as the President of the New England Guild,
she was elected, much to her surprise, as the Secretary of the recently
formed American Guild. As a teacher of underachieving students, Zabeth
discovered the many wonderful teaching opportunities provided by ringing
handbells. She formed "The Pudding Hill Ringers," (perhaps a takeoff
of the Beacon Hill Ringers) our earliest school handbell program.

Brian has been involved with handbells since 1990 at First Congregational
UCC in Elyria, Ohio, when he took over the directorship of his church handbell
choir on a supposedly temporary basis. That summer, he went to the
Area V Directors Seminar to learn more about the instrument and has been
hooked ever since. The following summer, he was site chairman for
the Area V Summer F/C in Oberlin, OH and was on the Area V board less than
a year
later. He served as Membership Chair prior to being elected to
two terms as Area V Treasurer. He is an active clinician and conductor
for many local, regional, and national events and continues to serve AGEHR
as Cleveland
District Leader, a member of the national Accreditation Committee,
