General Notes:


The soloist plays the vocal/instrumental line throughout.  However, I do not take the repeat and at m. 33-40, I play the descant line with some modifications.



Table Setup:


Bells needed:  B4-G7, plus duplicate D7, E7, G7, A7, B7 setup in a tree & laying on table above 5s

(can substitute bells an octave lower, if desired)


You will need an appropriate mallet.


Set out B4-C7 in keyboard order


A5/B5 in B5 position


Place F#7 above and between F#6 & G#6, then set G7, D7 & E7 to the right of F#7



Choreography:


m. 1-10:  rest — let piano play intro alone


m. 11:  begin with G5 in rh, set A5/B5 down as cluster intact after playing, pass E5 from lh to rh


m. 13:  keep G5 in hand as constant, create D6\G5 cluster, set A5/B5 down as cluster intact after beat 4


m. 14:  pass D6 from rh2 to lh & return to home position


m. 15-16:  same as m. 11-12


m. 17:  set A5/B5 down as cluster intact after playing


m. 19:  pick up A5 from on top of A5/B5 cluster with lh, return to home position after playing, while playing B5 quarter notes, create D6/C6 cluster, keep B5 in hand as constant, create E6\B5 cluster


m. 20:  release C6 after playing, release E6 after playing


m. 21:  keep D6 in hand as constant, create D6/G5 cluster, release G5 after playing, release B5 after playing


m. 22:  pass D6 from lh to rh


m. 23:  while playing D5 quarter notes, create B5\G5 cluster


m. 24:  release B5 after playing


m. 25:  keep G5 in hand as constant, create D5\G5 cluster, keep E5 in hand as constant, create E5/B4 cluster


m. 27-32:  rest, x all, create D6/C6 cluster


m. 33:  play B6 with rh, keep in hand as constant, create E7\B6 cluster, release E7 after playing, keep D7 in lh as constant, create D7/G6 cluster, keep B6 in hand as constant, create A6\B6 cluster


m. 34:  release A6 after playing, release G6 after beat 4


m. 24:  keep B6 in hand as constant, create E7\B6 cluster, keep D7 in hand as constant, create D7/G7 cluster, release G7 after playing, create D7\F#7 cluster


m. 36:  release F#7 after playing, release E7 after playing, play D7 as a quarter note (no C), keep in hand as constant


m. 37:  same as m. 33


m. 38:  release A6 after playing, release G6 after playing, keep B6 in hand as constant, create E7\B6 cluster


m. 39:  keep D7 in hand as constant, create D7/F#7 cluster, release E7 after playing, create G7\B6 cluster, set down D7/F#7 cluster intact, release G7 after playing (keep B6 in hand), play A6 with lh, B6 with rh, walk down table with B6 & displace to space above & between B5 & C6


m. 41-48:  same as m. 19-26


m. 49-51:  rest, pick up bell tree so that E7 can be damped individually (ie, with wrist)


m. 52:  play cue-sized notes on tree


m. 53:  damp E7, letting all other notes ring
